The story of Prophet Yusuf (PBUH)

The story of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) has been placed in the Holy Quran as Ahsas ul qasas which means best story of quran.

Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) was born in Haran, his mother's name was Prophet Raheel (peace be upon him) and his father's name was Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him).

Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) migrated from Haran and went to Kanan. Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) spent a long time there and during the journey, Prophet Raheel (peace be upon him) gave birth to his second son, Bin yamin (Benjamin) , and passed away from this world. Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) was brought up by his aunt when he was seven years old, he came to his father and said father tonight i saw eleven stars in my dream and also the moon and the sun are worshiping me.

Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) told Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) the interpretation of the dream and said that it indicates a good future, but you should not mention this dream to your brothers, otherwise they will envy you.

Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) had immense love for Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him), so his brothers planned to separate them. One day, the brother of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) came to Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) and said, "Father, send Yousaf with us in forest. He will be with us and we will protect him."

Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) was aware of his sons' plans, but despite this, he could not tell his children openly. He said to his sons that it might happened that you forget Yusuf and a wolf come and eat him. But these brothers convinced their father and took him to the forest with them the next day.

After going a little far from the house, the brothers started beating Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him). The brothers wanted to kill their younger brother Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him), so one of the brothers suggested that he should not be killed, but should be thrown into a well. Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) cried a lot, but still his brothers put him in a well and then they took off his shirt and kept it with him. His brothers were now happy that now they will get all the love of their father but fate was laughing at their foolishness

When the sun went down, the brothers of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) came to their father with goat's blood on their brother's shirt and said, "Father, what you were afraid of just happened.” They said, "He has been eaten by a wolf. You will not believe us. This is his shirt." Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) only said that I am patient with him and seek help from Allah.

On the other hand, Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) was sitting alone and was worried, a caravan going to Egypt passed by and camped there and told his slave to bring water. When the slave hung the drum, Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) also came up with water.

Everyone got shocked and become upset by seeing him and decided that we will take them with us and sell them there. This caravan left for Egypt and sold Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) to Aziz Egypt in the market. Aziz Misr took him to his house and said to his wife that he seems to be a great person, he may benefit us in the future and we can make him our son.

Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) grew up very well in the house of Aziz Misr, and when he was young, he was a very handsome young man. Zulaikha (the wife of Aziz Misr) fell in love with Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him). Zalikha tried hard to trap Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him), but he ran away and when he ran away, she grabbed his shirt from behind and his shirt was torn from behind. Meanwhile Aziz Misr entered in the house. Zulekha put all the blame on Prophet Yusuf without fear. Prophet yousaf (peace be upon him) told him the reality but Aziz Misr was not convinced.

Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) said that this child will be my testimony. By the command of Allah, this child started speaking and this child said that if the shirt is torn from the back, then Zuleikha is a sinner. If the shirt is torn from the front, Yusuf is a sinner. When Aziz Misr saw that the shirt of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) was torn from the back and he knew that Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) had no fault. Then Aziz Misr asked Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) to end this matter right here and said to Zulekha, "This is the trickery of women. Go and seek forgiveness for your sins in the presence of Allah."

Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) had to pass the test, to avoid the fear of defamation, Aziz Misr prisoned you. During this time period, the king of that era had a dream and he saw in a dream that seven lean cows eat seven fat cows, seven branches are dry and seven are full of green. So his courtiers said that this dream has no reality and no interpretation. So at that time the prisoner who was in prison with Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) and was released early remembered that he knew a person who could tell the interpretation of this dream. After nine years, he went back to the prison and asked Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) for the interpretation of the dream.

Now here, look at the behavior of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) that he did not complain to his companion prisoner and nor refuse to tell him any interpretation. He first told about the important problems that appeared in the dream, then he also told the solution to it. At the same time gave good news that it will rain again and it will be good. When the king heard the interpretation of the dream, he freed Yusuf (peace be upon him) from prison and made him the finance minister of Egypt. During the famine, his brothers went to Egypt to collect grains. He recognized his brothers, but the brothers did not recognize him because he use to wear his veil on his face.
